The Brno Exhibition Centre began preparations for the top event of the year. Already the 59th International Engineering Fair will be held on 9 to 13 October 2017, along with ENVITECH and Transport and Logistics fairs. The main topic will again focus on Industry 4.0, the fourth industrial revolution.

The title of partner country of this year's International Engineering Fair, which takes place at the Brno Exhibition on 9 to 13 October, will be given to India again after five years.

The 58th MSV was attended by 1711 companies – the most since 2012 – on a net exhibition area of over 44 000 square metres, the highest since 2008. Exhibitors bought up the area several months in advance. All the exhibition centre pavilions have been filled. The fair also registered record attendance. During the first four days, the fairs were visited by 72 500 people and the total number of visitors is expected to exceed 80 000. Such interest in MSV did not occur during the last seven years.

The latest technology by Japanese robot manufacturers and the development of the internet of things were the subject of a conference at MSV 2016 organized by the JETRO Japanese Foreign Trade Agency.

A contract worth €1.5 million made at the fair

The company ZKL Brno and the ZKL Group, the biggest manufacturer of large-size bearings in Central Europe, confirmed at the International Engineering Fair a purchase order for a new revolving grinder technology from the specialist French manufacturer Berthiez, which is a Starrag Group Holding company. The machine will be deployed in a demanding operation on grinding of bearings for wind turbines. Starrag Group CR collaborates with the company Ludačka Machine Tools. The contract is worth roughly €1.5 million, and the final placement of the bearing on the customer’s premises will be carried out in the third quarter of 2017.

Forum confirmed Czech opportunities in building up India's infrastructure

Girish Shankar from the Indian ministry of heavy industry confirmed during today's Czech-Indian Business Forum at the International Engineering Fair that India intends to invest substantial financial resources into the development of its infrastructure by 2020. For Czech entrepreneurs it opens opportunities to participate, for example, in the construction of high-speed rail and road networks, construction of the subway in dozens of cities and public transport services and urban infrastructure, the building of airports and aviation industry, but also in other areas and sectors.

Slovakia shows the best of its engineering at MSV

The traditional Slovak National Day at MSV underlined the importance of the Brno trade fair for the presentation of Slovak industrial companies to foreign partners. The meeting was attended by representatives of ministries, embassies, the SARIO agency and Slovak industrial associations. At this year's MSV a total of 85 Slovak companies are exhibiting – a tenth more than last year – and the Slovak participation is highlighted in national exposition in Hall V.
