International Engineering Fair
The fair through the participants’ eyes
The fact that MSV 2010 has exceeded expectations by its quality level and its scope is shown by reviews from the participating companies and distinguished visitors. In his opening address, Prime Minister Petr Nečas praised the fair: "I consider the MSV in Brno an extremely beneficial event for the development of trade and industrial relations that our country needs without a doubt. Therefore it is essential that more exhibitors came this year and we again saw the full exhibition grounds. I also regard as very positive that the Engineering Fair attracted so many foreign companies. The number of exhibitors at this fair is proof that the economic recovery is really coming. "
This was also confirmed by a number of exhibiting companies, such as the Pilous - Band Saws, whose CEO Petr Mašek said at the end of the fair: "This year's MSV reflected the global market recovery in the field of engineering. Visitors’ interest in our company has been great compared to last year, it was virtually unbelievable. It is obvious that people again want to invest in machinery, even the larger and more expensive. We managed to sell some saws and enter into new contracts during the fair. I am glad that the situation starts to get back on track."
And there seem to have been many more companies who signed new contracts directly at the fair. "We are very happy because our stand was visited by many interested parties, I guess they were three times as many as last year. We basically never stopped throughout the exhibition, we made use of it for scheduled meetings with our customers and business partners. We also succeeded in closing several sales contracts directly at the fair. Compared to all the fairs I visited abroad this year, this one in Brno was clearly the best,“ said David Jakubík, sales manager at TOS Varnsdorf on the last day of the exhibition,.
Favourable references also came from the foreign guests. Lower Austria Regional Councillor Petra Bohuslav who arrived in Brno on the occasion of the official declaration of Austria as the partner country of MSV 2010, told reporters at the conclusion of her visit: "I visited nine Lower Austrian companies here and they all told me that the MSV was the most important exhibition for the Eastern European market and for contacts with the new EU members." Another member of the delegation, Vice President of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber, Richard Schenz, noted an increasing trend in trade of both countries, particularly in industrial goods, which was also the merit of the Brno fair. "The visit to MSV has greatly impressed me. I am convinced that this is one of the most important fairs in Central Europe, and I am proud that more than forty Austrian firms are presented here, "said Richard Schenz after visiting the exhibition halls.
