Final Report
Basic statistics
The 26th Minerals Brno Exhibition (19th - 20th

the largest number of exhibitors came from the Czech
Republic, a great number of exhibitors
arrived from Slovakia, other
exhibitors came from Hungary,
Germany and India. There
were a total of 23 foreign exhibitors attending the exhibition.
Exhibition
space
For the first time, Minerals Brno took place in hall B
which has the benefit of daylight inside. This hall will therefore be used for
this exhibition from now on.
Record-breaking
number of paying visitors
The
exhibition was attended by 4,348 paying visitors, which is 11 % more than last year.
According
to the reply cards returned in the competition, the visitors to the exhibition
came not only from Brno and its vicinity but
also from the whole of Moravia, the Vysočina
region, western, northern and eastern Bohemia
and Slovakia.
Free tickets were also distributed and used by a total of 3,458 visitors.
The exhibition
was attended by a total of 7,806 visitors.
The exhibited range of products mainly comprised jewellery and collection stones, natural products, fossils, decorative stones and home accessories. What was also for sale was specialist geological literature and mineralogical and geological tools.
Advertising
and media coverage, communication
To advertise the November Minerals event, we used
advertising in regional press, outdoor billboards and radio. The Minerals Brno team
also focused their advertising activities on the Internet and besides using the
dedicated website www.mineralybrno.cz,
the advertising also took the form of ticker. Notices of the exhibition and
links to the website mineralybrno.cz were also posted on websites dedicated to minerals.
We continued using the social network Facebook, and noticed a growing number of
fans at the Minerály profile.
Specialised
focus of the exhibition and supporting programme
The specialised focus of the exhibition followed the
conception developed in 2009. This was largely related to all supporting activities
– an exhibition on the formation and occurrence of agates and competition with
prize drawing organised for visitors. We wish to thank Luděk Kráčmara, Radek
Votava and Radek Hanus or their cooperation in preparing these accompanying
events and lending exhibits from their collections to this supporting exhibition.
Thus, the visitors could become familiar with the variety of Czech agates and
agates from around the world.
Competition
for visitors with prize drawing
Thanks to the attractive prices in the competition we
recorded a great interest of the visitors. In total, the visitors returned over
600 reply cards. A total of 64 winners were drawn from the correct answers. The
organisers wish to thank all those exhibitors who donated the prizes:
Mr. Josef Lahoda from Diamonds International
Corporation®, Luděk Kráčmara, Jiří Vančura from VEGA JEWELLERY, Ludmila
Pokludová, Jiří Špalek, Svatopluk Prchlík, František Vorel from Kamenictví, Pavel
