BVV Trade Fairs Brno – PRESS CONFERENCE IN BEIJING

MSV BRNO, Czech Republic – the platform for presentation of China to Central and South Eastern Europe in the Framework 16 + 1

The relations between the Czech Republic and the People’s Republic of China are experiencing the best period in history, which is marked by frequent high level bilateral visits. The President of the Czech Republic Miloš Zeman has visited China twice in the past two years. In March 2016 the Chinese President Xi Jinping paid a visit to the Czech Republic. Czech Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka visited China twice in the previous seven months which signifies the importance both countries associate with the recently signed Strategic Partnership and look to remain active in developing Czech-Chinese relations in the future.

Czech Republic and China are currently working together on bilateral projects of the One Belt One Road Initiative and consider economic cooperation to be the backbone of their partnership. A key part of bilateral trade has traditionally been high-tech machinery and in this respect Czech Republic highly appreciates China to be the partner country of the International Engineering Fair in Brno taking place in October this year.

„Czech-China economic relations are getting stronger every year. It is not only because of a current strong economic growth in the Czech Republic, but also thanks to a continuous effort by both our governments. In the last several years we have seen a steady annual growth in bilateral trade and also investment. I believe the International Engineering Fair in Brno will further add to strengthening our trade and investment ties with China,“ says Mr Bedrich Kopecky, Ambassador of the Czech Republic in China.

As part of the 16+1 cooperation, the International Engineering Fair has been selected as a platform to present Chinese engineering technology in Central and Eastern European countries and will serve to enhance cooperation of Chinese enterprises with a wide range of markets.

„We are pleased that as a result of excellent bilateral ties between China and Czech Republic, the international industrial trade fair MSV Brno has been chosen as the business platform for enhancing business ties between China and Central Europe. We expect more than 200 Chinese exhibitors at China Pavilion to show the best of China“, underlines Mr Jiri Kulis, CEO of BVV Trade Fairs Brno.

MSV 2016 – Showcasing Future of Industry

The 58th International Engineering Fair at the Brno Exhibition Centre will be held in a positive atmosphere of economic growth and industrial output. Czech Republic´s economy is marked by one of the fastest growths and lowest unemployment rates in Europe.

The MSV Brno will be held from October 3 to 7, 2016, while special technology trade fairs IMT, FOND-EX, WELDING, PROFINTECH and PLASTEX will integral part of the show. In total, approximately 1,600 exhibiting companies and more than 75,000 visitors are expected to attend.

“This year we are completely booked-out and have long waiting list of exhibitors. This proves that the Czech and European economy is in a very good shape”, adds Mr Jiří Rousek, the director of the MSV show.

"The increasing interest in this year´s MSV show and the higher attendance last year are good signals of growing economy and the appetite in manufacturing sector for investment in capital goods and new progressive technologies," comments Mr Jiří Rousek, MSV Director.

The MSV also nicknamed “the Central European industrial Hannover show”, presents the latest technology progress, in particular automation of industrial processes known as Industry 4.0 – the so-called fourth industrial revolution. The transformation of production, logistics and business processes associated with massive robotics and digitizing has been the highlight in the recent years, including a special Digital Printing and Industry 4.0 platform.

Industry 4.0 theme also remains a key feature for MSV 2016. The traditional cross-sectional AUTOMATION project will be held, emphasizing measurement, control, automation and control technology across all trade fair disciplines.

Machine tools highlight the fair, while about 30% exhibitors relate to machine tools sector. Other segments of the MSV are dedicated to foundry technology, welding, plastics and surface treatment finishing - the International Foundry Fair FOND-EX, the International Welding Engineering Fair WELDING, International Plastics, Rubber and Composites fair PLASTEX and the International Fair of Surface Technology PROFINTECH will thus bring companies that do not participate in MSV in odd years to the Brno Exhibition Centre.

Another highlight of the MSV 2016 will feature Startups – a presentation of emerging innovative companies and projects that are primarily focused on the use of information and communication technology in engineering and manufacturing.

At the same time, other successful projects such as the traditional MSV JobFair, an international meeting of businessmen Contact-Contract or the presentation of university research Transfer of Technologies and Innovations will be repeated.

Every year, the MSV - International Engineering Fair - confirms its position as a leading industrial trade fair in Central Europe and shows the high level industrial technology, automation solutions for industry and progressive machine tools. The participation of leading European and world producers also testified that the Czech and Central European market with high industrial potential remains a very attractive sales market.

The fair is visited by many VIP guests including the President Miloš Zeman and Prime Minister and Ministers of the Czech Republic and the Slovak Minister of Economy.
