Leisure-time fairs at the Brno exhibition centre in 2011

Sport, travelling

Active leisure time activities are continually on the increase. In January the GO travel fair will open the fair year at the Brno exhibition centre and will offer travellers not only organised excursions and individual tourism, but also an interesting accompanying programme – photograph exhibitions, talks, projections of traveller films and new travel publications. The Caravaning Brno and boat Brno fairs staged in November are also related to travelling. Sport Life and Bike Brno are held concurrently with these two fairs and every year they are a festival for sport lovers. Apart from the exhibitors' stands they both offer four days of demonstrations, experience and also the opportunity to try out the sports equipment within the accompanying programme which takes place at the exhibition centre and outside.

Motorbikes, automobiles, veteran cars

The motorbike branch appeared at the exhibition centre in Brno in 2010 and the MOTOSALON fair met with an exceptionally positive acceptance. In 2011 this fair will be held in Prague, but BVV Trade Fairs Brno will be the organiser. Automobiles, which indeed also belong to leisure time activities, will be shown at the Brno exhibition centre at Autosalon Brno in June. Autosalon Brno is one of the most important shows of passenger cars in Central Europe; on top of that MotoRsport Expo, the fair focused on the motoring sport, will be held in tandem.

Twice a year the Brno exhibition centre hosts veteran cars at the MOTORTECHNA BRNO show. In April and October the exhibitors will demonstrate and offer for sale some hundred classic cars and motorbikes and any amount of spare parts.

Animal breeding, hunting

In February, August, September and late June dog shows will be held at the exhibition centre in Brno. The show held in June (INTERCANIS) will offer all animal lovers and animal breeders a very wide range because at the same time also the INTERFELIS exhibition of cats, PROPET pet supply exhibition and the National Exhibition of Livestock will take place. The two latter exhibitions are also expecting the attendance of visitors who relate animals with their leisure time. The substantial part of the show will be horses whose commercial use indeed does not prevail.

A very popular event is the FISHING exhibition which will be open to visitors in mid-March. In the Czech Republic and in Central Europe fishing is a very popular sport and the exhibition primarily serves as an opportunity to buy various tackle ahead of the oncoming season.

Modelling, collecting

In 2011 the Brno exhibition centre will offer two events for modellers. In mid-March it will be the MODELLER fair which had so far been held in Prague and in June it will be a one-day meeting of modellers combined with the championship of the Czech Republic of students in plastic modelling MODELLBRNO. Collectors associate the Brno exhibition centre with the exhibition of minerals, jewels and products of nature MINERALS BRNO which is definitely the most important event in the branch in the Czech Republic. MINERALS BRNO will be staged in the last but one weekend in November.
