International Exhibition of Defence and Security Technologies

Preliminary Final Report
11th International Exhibition of Defence and Security Technologies IDET was accompanied by great interest of visitors. Part of the military equipment will remain at the exhibition grounds until Saturday, when the 15th International Fair for Fire and Security Technology and Services PYROS / ISET continues here and thanks to attractive accompanying programme record-breaking public interest is expected. Total attendance of the integrated rescue system exhibitions will thus exceed thirty thousand people.

World novelty exhibited by VOP-026
The wheeled combat reconnaissance vehicle PANDUR II 8x8 CZ with KBV-PZLOK radar was presented at IDET in Hall P by VOP-026 Šternberk, s.p. It is designed to carry out survey tasks for mechanized brigades of a light and mixed type, for combat operations from carriage weapons.

AČR Rescue Centre presents a rescue helicopter
Helicopter PV 13 Sokol (Falcon) dominates in the exhibition of the Army of the Czech Republic medical services in Hall Z. This medical facility deals with rescue services in the army but is also used for civilians.

The legendary DUKLA in Hall Z
What better way to present the Army Sports Centre than with the athletes themselves, who have been successfully defending the Dukla colours and the Czech Republic in world competitions. This year, the organizers managed a tour de force: each day, IDET visitors will meet an Olympic bronze medallist!

The highest level of protection in suspicion of infection is provided by Biovak by EGO Zlín
A novelty, Biobag EBV-40, was presented at IDET in Hall P by EGO Zlín, spol. s.r.o., engaged in manufacturing a complex biological protection system. These means are intended for cases of epidemics, pandemics, bioterrorism and industrial disasters.

IDET Exhibition opening with important guests
Organizers of the eleventh IDET exhibition chose an unusual, but very comfortable and dignified environment for the opening ceremony. Augustinian Abbey courtyard, which lies close to the Brno Exhibition Centre, filled with leaders of armies and defence and security industry of more than twenty countries on Tuesday night. Special guests were welcomed by Brno Exhibition Centre CEO Jiří Kuliš, who on this occasion thanked the Ministry of Defence and the Association of Defence and Security Industry for the excellent cooperation and support of IDET.
Rich representation of Česká zbrojovka at IDET exhibition
Literally under siege we find the exhibition stand of Česká zbrojovka in Hall P. Visitors can try shooting from different short and long guns. The company presents a full array of the latest personal weapons for defence and security forces.

IDET NEWS 2011 awards the best exhibits
An international jury selected two dozen outstanding products in the IDET exhibition space, which were awarded the prestigious traditional IDET NEWS prize. The winners of this year's edition were selected through choices of professional journalists from six countries and the entire jury was headed by Jörg Ashenbrenner, Austrian Truppendienst editor and president of the European Military Press Association EMPA, which brings together more than forty defence ministry magazines of EU countries.

The White Paper showed a way for savings
The Ministry of Defence department needs to save and in the interest of long-term budget stabilization it must limit investments in military capabilities whose development is not necessary.
