International Fair of Regional Tourism
Stage performances, traditional crafts and typical gastronomy
Dynamic exhibitions full of tourist attractions will dominate the rich supporting programme with the presentation of attractive products, which once again revive the action in both exhibition halls. Folklore ensembles from Bohemia and Moravia, dulcimer music, girls’ saxophone orchestra, domažlice bagpipers and historical swordsmen - they all will share the stage which will stand in the middle of Hall P from Thursday to Sunday,. The agenda also includes meetings with the creators and moderators of the successful Roaming Camera TV show or the winner ceremony of the 15th competition for "The most beautiful tourist postcard of the Czech Republic." Visitors to REGIONTOUR will also witness several attempts for a new Czech record and can engage themselves in an attempt to build the highest tower of the GECCO kit. The Museum of Records and Curiosities in Pelhřimov, who are a regular participant of the Brno trade fair, are planning a modular playground game room for small builders and their parents.
In close proximity to the stage in Hall P, visitors can learn about traditional crafts of the Czech and Moravian countryside. A crafts fair with stalls of three dozen artisans from almost all over the Czech Republic will not only present the finished products of traditional professions, but also their production process in real life.
Hall F will favour GO visitors with even two stages with a supporting programme that invites to specific foreign destinations. Live discussions with film screenings, dance and local folklore demonstrations and tastings of typical delicacies gained great popularity of last year’s audience. This year, visitors will be invited for example to Cyprus, China, U.S. to the west, to the Dominican Republic to Morocco or to Norway. An interesting lecture will feature a trip through the Caucasus in a Trabant or a presentation of the Sephardic (Spanish Jewish) culture.
After a successful premiere last year, a presentation of gastronomic specialities at the fair continues, presenting the typical tastes of Czech and Moravian regions as well as international cuisine. Gastronomic tourism is an integral part of tourism and GO and REGIONTOUR trade fairs offer visitors a small invitation. Hall P opens a restaurant with regional specialities, while the menu at the restaurantin Hall F will feature specialties of international cuisine.
