International Conference on Road Safety
Facts & Figures:
Road safety improvement is an important issue of all European countries for many years. The Czech society is also aware of the importance of this topic and that is why the international conference BRNOSAFETY is held every year; in 2009 it was incorporated into the programme of the presidency of the Czech Republic in the Council of the European Union.
This year the 5th run of the BRNOSAFETY Conference will be held on June 2nd – 3rd, 2011.
At the oncoming conference experts in safety of road traffic will discuss the following topics:
- Modern driver assistance systems in vehicles (ADAS)
- Construction of vehicles from the perspective of protection of non-motorist road traffic participants
- Traffic infrastructure and conditions for its safety
- Social conditions for reducing the accident rate on surface routes and the benefits of the European Road Safety Charter for its signatories
- Safety risks resulting from purchase of old cars
Those who are interested in active participation in the conference may register their paper, including an annotation, to the following e-mail address brnosafety@email.cz not later than May 15th, 2011.

At the BRNOSAFETY 2011 conference the winner of the BRNOSAFETY MEDIAPRIX 2011 competition will be announced. The competition is intended for media which have systematically devoted their attention to the issue of the increasing road traffic in the past year. The award will be handed out at the gala evening at the Brno Town Hall held on the occasion of the opening of this year’s AUTOSALON MOTOR SHOW on 3 June 2011.
